The Screening Room
I had never heard of The Screening Room on Youtube before, but I think that the idea is a very good one. I believe that it is an awesome way for one to get their work out through the media before trying to take their work to bigger and more prominent outlets to get recognition. I scrolled through the list of films to choose from, and I decided to watch one titled Steel Homes, a film by Eva Weber. I thought it was a really cool idea for an indie film, and a really interesting topic to want to create a film on. The film was mainly about different stories from various people renting out space in storage containers, and the so called "baggage" that each person carries emotionally with the things that have collected within them over the years. Each person had a specific tale to tell about their own life and the ways they contributed to their own storage container. I found it very intriguing to learn about each and every one of them, and the ways that each story was not alike the other. I think that the way that it was actually filmed was very interesting as well. I liked how all the interviews that were done were voiceovers, and then the actual film portion was just images of them cleaning out their own containers and adding things to them. Overall, I think that this film was very high quality, and in the future I will be interested to learn more about films on this website!
